A good soaking

Good rains fell over this just past weekend, some heavy in storms.

Thirsty soil and plants received 2.9 inches of the blessed liquid.

Soaked into the dusty dirt midst sparse grasses.

Takes some of the edge off of the drought,

and brings cheer to two- and four-leggeds.

Hoping for more as there’s a lot of catching up to do.

Today it’s sunny.

Maybe some of the grasses will be able to fortify their roots for the winter

and leave more leaves for the horses, too.
