Bone marrow recovering slowly

My prognostatory optimism has gotten the worst of me. I’ve been hoping to emerge from neutropenia for some days now, but the neutrophils are still too few, tho climbing slowly, as the bone marrow is very slow in bouncing back this cycle. Today counts as 12th day of NP. Maybe tomorrow will get me to the magic 500 neutrophil count, then a short visit home. (Neutrophils are the white blood cells that do the main immunity work. More technical explanation.)

Other than this drawn out NP, I feel pretty strong, relative to what this body has been through, and comfortable. So far there have been no fevers or infection scares. Thank goodness that we reversed the colostomy.

Hope you all are doing relatively well, or even better, wherever you may be and in whatever stage of life you are facing.
