Shorter days

It’s the season of shorter days, especially with the return to normal time. Folks like me — those who like to dawdle in the morning — need to make extra effort to get going early, that is, if one has some serious work to do within a limited time. That’s a practice in itself.

My parents visited on what turned out to be a pleasant, sunny weekend. Dad gave lots of advice on how to do the cabin. He’s our electrical consultant. Mum enjoyed walking around quietly, leaving we noisy ones at the cabin.

Dear friend Mike has come for a week. He missed the fall colors but still enjoys some beautiful browns and reds. He also gets to experience the newly winterized tipi. We put in the liner & installed the fireplace. Will put up the ozan soon. These help it be warmer & cozier as temps drop. It gets below 32 most nights.
