Our infrastructure is aimed at personal retreat rather than group retreats. If you would like to attend a retreat with Santikaro, please go to the retreat page.
Our housing is very simple and the amenities are basic. Currently, we have two tent cabins, a tipi, an outhouse, and running water (without heater). Cooking is done camp style, or at the apartment in Norwalk. If roughing it doesn't appeal, please come as a day trip or stay in a nearby B&B or motel. (A cabin with wood stove should be ready by winter 2008.)
Generally, we accept retreatants for any number of days up to two weeks. Longer stays depend on getting to know each other during the initial period. The exception is for practitioners we already know well.
If you are interested in a retreat here, please email us with your intentions, something about your Buddhist study-practice background, the sort of retreat you would like to have, and dates. We will respond by email and also set up a time to talk on the phone, as we feel that's better for conveying what you and we are about then mere emails. We hope to establish some rapport before you get here.
We are open to longterm retreatants and potential residents. For both, the starting point is to get to know each other. There's no point talking about long stays until we have some mutual understanding of Buddha-Dhamma, practice, the lifestyle at Liberation Park, and how you can fit in. So we will ask you to come for a visit or personal retreat as the first step, along with email and phone comunications.
