Bill & Mai with siding
Today’s help came in the form of Mai & Bill. Not only did they help us accomplish a lot this afternoon, Bill brought delicious sandwiches & soup from his restaurant, plus excellent coffee. They both brought good cheer & humor.
Normally, the siding goes on after the windows are installed; however, the windows haven’t arrived. Because our siding is made of vertical pine boards, it’s possible to put them up so long as we leave space around the windows. So almost half of the siding is now on. Starting tomorrow, I’ll nail battens over the gaps between the boards.
Mai used LP for a design project at school. We were impressed by the liveliness & beauty of the logos, T-shirts, and more that she came up with. With a bit of skill, you’ll see her work on the LP website.
Four-Five days ago the forecasts were threatening rain every day, yet it only fell last night. Working was pleasant yesterday & today. Looking good for next couple days, too, tho that can also change.

Siding with spaces
The sun made a few brief appearances this afternoon. Then, at the end of the day it dropped below the clouds & lit things up gorgeously. The oaks & hickorys in particular, with their leaves turned dark red & brown, but still on the twigs, catch the light & glow. The hard work is its own reward, while these gifts of nature are bonus rewards. Too often we seek payment in other coin; days like these remind us at LP of the rewards of Dhamma.
