Meditation Hermitage

for solitude & contemplation

click for larger viewOur building team and volunteers worked hard on the first Meditation Hermitage during the Summer & Fall of 2014. It will be finished in 2015 and has already seen use.

The hermitage is intended solely for contemplative retreats, to accommodate meditation, study, & simple living.

The hermitage is a simple wooden structure, well insulated with a wood burning stove. It is naturally lit by ample windows. The interior is 10x12 feet with a 4x10 porch on the east side. It is intended for a single occupant.

Simple furniture will be provided: cot, table, chair, & dresser.

The hermitage is located in the back part of the property, our "contemplative zone," where talking & socializing are discouraged. Tucked in the trees a little way up the northern side of the valley, it overlooks the back pasture & from it pathways lead up into the woods. It's a 5 minute walk from the more public area of Liberation Park.

Retreatants may reserve it for use according to the information here and Santikaro's availability.
